Hello, and welcome to Uptown Dallas!  It’s always a pleasure to serve you and take great care of your needs. Uptown Dallas really gives such a terrific opportunity to not only enjoy where you live, but make friends and connections that last well past your time in Uptown. We love making sure you have a great Uptown Dallas apartment to experience as you transition here, in the best part of town that fits your needs.
Many professionals come to Uptown Dallas and move here as they start their new careers here. Our clients either have recently graduated college or have just moved here from out of Texas…or even wanted to downsize and enjoy a more stress free life while they think about next steps.   Uptown Dallas just makes life a lot easier and more convenient in many ways!

After a few years, many residents of Uptown Dallas then transition to a different area. They might be moving to a new state, taking a new job, or even moving to the suburbs of Dallas here (Lakewood, Plano, Park Cities, etc.).  Renting is continuing to be the number one choice for professionals for the present as opposed to buying, so many residents will always continue to rent as well.  We love helping them at whatever point they need to make a change.

Apartment Life in Dallas

If you are like me, apartments have always been a big part of my life. I was raised by a wonderful single mom and I lived in several Dallas apartments growing up. Many of these apartments were not in areas anywhere as nice as Uptown Dallas, but they were all safe and provided me with what I needed.  When I went off to college, I lived in apartments there as well.  And, when I graduated, I chose apartments again.  I loved how apartments were always convenient, easy to access and provided great opportunities to meet other people in Dallas.  I also like renting with other roommates…splitting expenses and making closer friends.
I’ve been in good housing, and in some questionable housing as well. I’ve experienced great landlords and bad landlords.  One apartment I was in growing up had a bug problem…one night I got up to go to the bathroom, and felt something squishy under my feet.   I was so sleepy I didn’t really notice anything, but then when I got to the bathroom, I had 2 huge cockroaches, one smushed and wedged between my 2 big toes and my next toe!  UGH…so you can imagine I’ve always hated bugs after that!
Years later, I was in college and about to graduate. I had great test scores and a good future ahead with a major and a pre-med minor. I also had passed my CPA exam as a fallback (and passed it all the first time, thank you!). I had been accepted to go to medical school as well. Then, I went to med school, and I bombed out, lasting only a semester.  I didn’t prepare well, and it was my own fault. I found myself in temp housing once again, and searching for answers to my life.

Making Roots One Day

I’ve often wondered about what it would be like to never have to move again. I’m into setting down roots…are you like me? Yes, I love to travel, and enjoy seeing new places.  But, for living, I didn’t get to enjoy one place for very long when I was growing up…I moved around quite a bit.  I’d like to one day be in a place that is a bit more permanent.
In thinking about it, I naturally think of some great suburb here in Dallas like I mentioned above. Or, even consider some over the top addresses like a small town in Europe, South America, etc.  But, as I start to think about it, no home really is permanent.  And, no city stays the same.  Buildings age and need to be replaced.   And, more importantly, the people come and go that make an area desirable to you.
I have realized that time on this earth is also short and things are uncertain here…things just don’t always work out like I plan! I remember great memories from my childhood, and those seem like yesterday. My college years were gone in a heartbeat…time flew by!  I also remember dreaming big dreams and making some great goals for my life. I have accomplished some of them, but have failed at others.   And, friends I have made and thought would be forever friends are now in their own lives and I haven’t seen some in years.
I’ve had my share of disappointments as well.  My first internship had a lot of travel, but I wasn’t great at it!  And, my first position out of college was a total non-fit.  My 2nd position had a lot of potential too, and I learned a ton from it, but I wasn’t a great fit for the culture there.   My love life has often been a total mystery too…I have not been a very great “picker” for relationships!

Real Answers and a Permanent Home

Life has been a bit of a mystery for me, and it’s been beyond my understanding so much of the time. I just have never had the answers on my own for my life or to deal with problems.   And, what I have discovered is that I myself have been my own biggest problem!
I think that the most intelligent thing that a person can do is admit when there are problems, and reach out and get real answers to solve them. With my own life disappointments and frustrations, I turn to God for those answers.  I believe in a good God that has created all of us for His purposes.  I turn to the Bible in particular for the wisdom that I need.
I also believe we can have a real relationship with God.  I believe He cares about my problems and wants to not only be with me, but also even do something about my problems.  So, I turn to Him not only for wisdom, but also so that I can get to know Him, and for Him to get to know me as well.

About 2,000 years ago, God cared enough to send His Son Jesus to earth as one of us, to show the world how much He cares for us. He came in a stable, the most temporary lodging of all. And, His parents were always on the move, in “temp living” for much of His early life.
When He was on the earth, He showed His love constantly to all people, especially the outcasts. He often hung out with the “worst” people of society, the ones that few would accept and most wanted nothing to do with.  He didn’t focus on being rich, but He had everything He needed, always. He healed countless sick people. And, then He eventually died on a cross because authorities didn’t like Him …and then rose again from the dead. Nothing could stop Him and nothing could stop His love either. Nothing ever will.

Home At Last

While He was on the earth, Jesus told the men who followed Him that even He would be leaving them (for a little while).  He had spent a lot of time with these men and they were pretty upset about Him leaving. Jesus wanted them to be with Him too, so He told them that He was preparing a place for them as well.  And, this was an eternal place, a place more wonderful than they had ever seen. More importantly, Jesus would be with them in this eternal place. (see the Bible verses below for exactly what He said).

In my life, I have already lived in many temporary places. Nothing is going to last forever here on earth.  I came to a point in my life where I realized my life was hopeless and I had failed God completely. I had run from Him and not done what He wanted me to do. The Bible calls this sin. I didn’t know how to make things right with God but I knew I couldn’t do it by myself.

The Bible also says that Jesus Himself died for all of our sins on that cross, and rose again as proof He paid for all of these sins. By His death and then resurrection, He provides a way for each of us to be FULLY accepted before God. God is not into grudges…He focuses on forgiveness and having people in a right relationship with Him. Through Jesus, we can know God’s love and kindness in our life…forever.

I asked Jesus to take over my life, save me and forgive me for my many, many sins. I asked Him to be my Lord and Savior. When I did that, Jesus made me into a new person and forgave me, COMPLETELY.  He has changed my focus and my perspective. He also has given me great peace. I sense His presence each day.  He is with me as I walk through my life.

I follow Jesus each day as my Lord. I still have times that I screw things up, but I know have peace in my heart that comes from Him. He always leads me to the right thing to do. And, as big as God is, I know that He loves me and cares even about the little things I need help on every day.

My business here is to help you have a wonderful apartment in Uptown Dallas.  But, far more importantly, if I can ever answer any questions for you about how I have found that eternal home I mentioned above and talk more about Jesus, please let me know. I would be glad to share more with you. Just use the contact form to reach out to me.

Thank you for reading these thoughts. Have a terrific day!

Eternal Home – From The Bible

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 2 There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. 4 And you know the way to where I am going.” 5 “No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. 7 If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!”  John 14:1-7
