Also, Texas is the most popular state to relocate to in the US. And Dallas is one of the top 3 most popular relocation cities in the entire US! People are moving in droves to Texas, and they love choosing Dallas! And TI Dallas is one of the largest employers in the entire DFW metroplex.
TI Dallas Office Locations
The TI Dallas Main HQ is located primarily on 75/Central expressway (13500 North Central Expressway). Most TI employees work at the main office, but there are also several other offices where you may be working as a TI Employee. Moving from south to north, these locations include:
- TI Dallas South office just south of the Main office: 8505 Forest Lane, Dallas TX
- Richardson Fab Plant: 300 W Renner Rd Richardson, TX 75080
- East Plano office (Finance and IT): 6500 Chase Oaks, Plano TX
- Sherman Office (about 45 minutes north): 6412 Central Expressway, Sherman TX
Even though these TI Dallas offices are very dispersed in terms of distance, they are all quickly accessible from one of the 2 main north and south highways we have in Dallas, called Central Expressway or 75.
TI Dallas Areas that are popular with new college hires and young professionals
There are many urban, exciting and entertaining areas to choose from. We want to give you a few details about some of the most popular areas for TI new hires, especially in terms of LEASING. There are other areas than what we mention below, but we don’t dwell on them, due to the lack of young professionals in the areas.
Young professionals tend to locate in one of four HOT SPOT areas of Dallas. These Hot Spot areas are: Uptown Dallas, Addison Tx, The Shops at Legacy and Las Colinas.
TI Dallas new college hires (and interns) tend to prefer those locations in this order:
UPTOWN Dallas – Dallas Hot Spot
Uptown Dallas is the most popular destination in all of the DFW area for young professionals. It’s located about 20-25 minutes away from the main HQ office and even shorter commute from the Forest Lane office. It is filled with young professionals in their 20s and early 30s, packed in an easily walkable area for all to enjoy.
It is extremely convenient to reach Uptown, both by car…and by the Dart Rail. That’s true not only for the south offices, but even the more northern offices! The Dart Rail runs from the North part of Uptown and drops off directly to the TI Main HQ and the Forest Lane office, as well as even running closeby the Richardson FAB plant, and the East Plano office. A quick bus ride will complete the commute for the Richardson and East Plano offices, thus giving 4 of those locations public transportation to Uptown.
SHOPS AT LEGACY – Dallas Hot Spot
The Shops at Legacy has many advantages to living here. It really is a true hotspot in terms of being able to live, work and socialize, all in one area. The Shops at Legacy was designed from the ground up with a master plan to be that live/work/play environment. The Shops at Legacy actually has more to walk to in short walking distance than any other hot spot in Dallas. And, rent prices are lower there as well.
Even though the Shops at Legacy is in what many call “suburbia”, the residents of the Shops at Legacy are primarily young professionals just out of college. The college grads that populate this area come from the neighboring corporations that are right by the Shops, including JCPenney, Bank of America, and many, many others.
For TI Dallas employees that are working the Richardson or East Plano or Sherman locations, the Shops at Legacy makes sense and should be considered as an option for living. However, the location of the Shops at Legacy can be a bit more of a challenge to commute to for TI Dallas employees working in the south offices. Average time to commute is about 30 to 35 minutes each way.
ADDISON TX – Dallas Hot Spot
Sometimes TI Dallas new hires will also examine the Addison TX area. This area is close to the main HQ offices and the Forest lane office. There is much to do at night in Addison, along with many unusual and fun events, such as KaboomTown, Oktoberfest and more. However, unlike Uptown, Addison is very spread out, and doesn’t have the same concentration of things to WALK TO as Uptown Dallas. You have to mostly drive to get to a social life in Addison for the most part. The rent is also a little lower than Uptown Dallas, but not much. So, while Addison is an option, it’s not the most popular one.
Why Not Downtown Dallas for TI Dallas New Hires?
Other cities like Chicago, NYC and San Francisco have their young professionals working and living and playing in their downtowns. But, Dallas Downtown just doesn’t have that…yet. It’s not a safety issue…Downtown Dallas for the most part is safe. And, there ARE some apartments in downtown Dallas…but it’s just not established as the place to be for professionals…instead, Uptown Dallas is.
Unfortunately, at night, Downtown Dallas is just not very active. The streets are pretty empty, and the weekends are even more noticeable in their lack of activity. Everyone is in Uptown Dallas instead!
Also, Downtown Dallas is like many other downtowns…it’s a concrete jungle. It’s full of skyscrapers, sidewalks and crosswalks. And it doesn’t have much greenery. If you enjoy having more green shrubs and trees and plants around you, you are much better off in Uptown Dallas. Uptown Dallas is more of a neighborhood feel, with mature, beautiful trees, attractive places to jog and enjoy life!
WHY UPTOWN Dallas for TI Dallas New Hires?
Uptown Dallas is very unique. It is a relatively small area but is very focused and packed with many shops, restaurants and night spots. It’s also packed with younger professionals…those in their 20s and early 30’s primarily (with some exceptions). These young professionals are busy with work, but when they play, they love to relax and kick back and enjoy. Uptown makes this easy.
Uptown Dallas restaurants are built for making things easy to socialize. Most of them have great patios to enjoy eating out. And, there are plenty of events to help you get to know other residents in Uptown, like the Katy Trail Run.
Living in Uptown Dallas, means you are just a few minutes away from almost anything in uptown, using the FREE Uptown Trolley from home. The Uptown Trolley runs through the north and south of Uptown, and it runs even late at night on the weekends. So, no taxi needed most of the time…you have a great, free and safe transportation throughout.
Another great benefit in Uptown Dallas is that it is connected to the DART RAIL, the public transportation system. It is a public train that goes from UPTOWN directly to the TI Dallas offices. The drop off locations are within a very short distance to the offices and are completed with a quick shuttle. Living in Uptown Dallas means that you can take that Dart Rail anytime to the TI south Dallas offices, or even to other shopping and events that are north of Uptown as well.
In summary, if you live in Uptown, you get to enjoy these:
- You are around young professionals all of the time
- You save TIME in meeting young professionals from TI and other firms
- You save TIME in having things to do with your new friends from TI
- You have an easier time making connections with other professionals that are rising like you
