Grant’s direct answer
Washington Avenue is Lower Heights’ principal restaurant, bar, and nightlife corridor. For recent graduates and young professionals, proximity can provide a strong social advantage and convenient access to central Houston. The best apartment is not necessarily directly on Washington Avenue, however. Living beside the busiest nightlife may create traffic, visitor parking pressure, and noise. Some renters prefer being close enough to walk or make a very short drive while retaining a quieter residential setting. Test the actual route from the apartment entrance and visit at the times you would normally use the area.
