The Village Dallas Apartments: Could This Be the Best Place to Live in Dallas?

The Village may be Dallas’s best overall apartment environment for renters seeking social life, extensive amenities, and comparatively reasonable pricing.

It is not one apartment complex. It is a coordinated community of 18 residential neighborhoods built around a central recreation, dining, and events district.

1. Why might The Village be the best overall apartment area in Dallas in 2026?

Begin at The Village Sales & Tours center at 5605 Village Glen Drive.

The staff-led Village tour is typically scheduled for approximately 30 minutes. During that time, the leasing professional may provide a quick drive through the main amenity block, but the tour will focus primarily on available apartments within the Village communities that best fit the renter’s budget and needs.

We recommend arriving approximately 30 minutes early—or staying after the scheduled appointment—to explore the remarkable additional amenities. Allow at least 30 extra minutes and, when possible, up to 60 minutes for this part of the visit.

Compare:

• An older value unit near the core
• Northbridge
• A quieter gated choice such as Dakota, Westside, or Upper East Side
• The Drey

A serious tour should include:

• The Village Sales & Tours center
• Orientation to the central district
• V-Fit
• Village Beach Club
• Sandy Pickle
• Buzz & Bustle
• Restaurants and gathering spaces
• A lake, trail, or landscaped route
• Actual routes between candidate apartments and amenities
• Parking, gates, package areas, trash, and laundry

Ask about exact-unit renovation, laundry, gates, parking, amenity fees, events, guest access, and walking time.

2. How is The Village organized, and which neighborhoods or apartment communities within it should renters understand first?

The Village is one of my strongest recommendations for someone moving alone. Shared events, pools, sports, fitness, restaurants, and coffee create repeated opportunities to meet people.

Upper East Side, Dakota, and Westside can provide quieter, gated environments while retaining access to the shared campus.

The Drey is my number-one premium choice. It opened in 2021 and sits extremely close to the central amenities.

Older communities can provide lower rents and a short amenity walk when the exact unit is well positioned.

3. Which parts of The Village are best for recent graduates, active singles, established professionals, value-conscious renters and people who prefer a quieter lifestyle?

Think of The Village as a clock. Shared amenities sit near the center, while residential communities surround that core like spokes. Some are much closer than others.

A community name alone does not reveal walking time. The exact building and apartment position matter.

Editorial placement: Insert “The Village Dallas — Community & Amenity Guide” here. The existing PNG and SVG assets are labeled “Not to scale” and highlight Northbridge, Dakota, Westside, Upper East Side, and The Drey.

4. What amenities make The Village different from an ordinary apartment complex or neighborhood?

The Village offers more internal dining, coffee, fitness, recreation, and everyday activity than a conventional apartment property.

The environment feels closer to a small resort or college recreation and social campus than a standard clubhouse.

Current concepts, hours, guest policies, and access should be verified.

EVENT PROGRAMMING

5. What is the social life really like, and how easy is it for someone moving to Dallas alone to meet people through events, pools, fitness, sports and shared spaces?

The Village’s social environment is genuinely exceptional in my professional experience.

Its advantage is not simply having many residents. The community gives them recurring reasons to share spaces through sports, fitness, pools, dining, and events.

No event calendar guarantees friendship. Participation still matters.

RECENT-GRADUATE CULTURE

6. How strong are the restaurants, coffee, fitness, outdoor areas, trails, recreation and everyday conveniences within The Village itself?

The central advantage is scale.

V-Fit is officially described as a 32,000-square-foot resident fitness center with cardio and strength equipment, an indoor basketball court and track, studio spaces, and outdoor fitness areas.

Other offerings include pools, pickleball, restaurants, coffee, events, recreation, and shared gathering spaces.

Verify which access is included and which classes, reservations, food, drinks, tickets, or services cost extra.

7. How do apartment age, renovations, floor plans, finishes, pricing and management vary across the different Village communities?

The Village’s communities span several eras. Reported years below may differ slightly from phased construction or opening dates.

| Order | Community | Reported/opening year |

|---:|---|---:|

| 1 | Gate | 1972* |

| 2 | Hill | 1973 |

| 3 | Corners | 1973 |

| 4 | Corners East | 1974 |

| 5 | Green I | 1978 |

| 6 | Green II | 1978 |

| 7 | Bend | 1979 |

| 8 | Bend East | 1979 |

| 9 | Chase | 1979 |

| 10 | Meadow | 1981 |

| 11 | Cliffs | 1981 |

| 12 | Park | 1982 |

| 13 | Lakes | 1986 |

| 14 | Northbridge | 2001 |

| 15 | Westside | 2005 |

| 16 | Dakota | 2008 |

| 17 | Upper East Side | 2014 |

| 18 | The Drey | 2021 |

*Village history indicates the Gate series began construction in 1968, while property records report 1972, likely reflecting phased development.

Older communities generally provide garden-apartment architecture, lower ceilings, traditional layouts, and selected shared laundry. Renovations vary by exact unit.

Northbridge, Westside, Dakota, and Upper East Side form progressively newer tiers. The Drey is the flagship.

8. How convenient is The Village for commuting to Downtown, Uptown, SMU, North Dallas, the Park Cities, Plano and other major employment areas?

The Village sits east of US-75 between Lovers Lane and Northwest Highway. It is useful for Uptown, Downtown, SMU, Park Cities, central Dallas, and parts of North Dallas.

Plano and Frisco commutes are more difficult. Test exact addresses and office frequency.

CAR DEPENDENCE AND TRANSIT

9. What are the honest drawbacks of living in The Village—including older units, parking, noise, internal driving, walkability outside the property, traffic, access control or anything else?

• Most apartments are older
• Renovation packages vary
• Selected units lack in-unit laundry
• No traditional 20-story high-rise
• Off-property urban walkability is limited
• Internal driving may be required
• Gated communities sit farther from the core
• Event and pool noise affects selected locations
• Access design differs by community

I have received concerns about road exposure and exterior-access design at Bend and Corners. These are client and professional observations—not claims that either community is categorically unsafe.

10. If a renter wanted to tour The Village, which communities and amenities should be included, what questions should they ask, and how would Uptown101 determine the best fit?
