Quick answer
Test walkability from the apartment’s actual resident entrance—not from the neighborhood name or leasing office. Walk to the restaurants, grocery options, trails, transit stops, fitness studios, and other destinations you would use regularly. Note the real distance, major intersections, sidewalk continuity, shade, lighting, construction, traffic speed, and how the route feels after dark. Also distinguish recreational walkability from practical daily walkability: being near a trail is useful, but it does not necessarily mean groceries and errands are convenient without a car. A map pin can look close while the real route is uncomfortable or indirect.
